Goal trajectory - Thursday, March 27
It’s not at all cliché to say that a new you is well within your reach. If your New Year resolution is waning, take a moment to get recharged. Are you ready to launch a new you? Continue on your healthy journey with these tips:
Identify obstacles. You can get rid of bad habits by acknowledging them first. Be honest with yourself. Poor nutrition and inconsistent physical activity are examples of roadblocks to being your best.
Get organized. Set priorities for areas to improve. Need to eat better? Make shopping lists and create a weekly menu plan. Need to move more? Invest in a good pair of athletic shoes and keep them accessible.
Aim with precision. Being too broad or general can hinder progress. Pick a specific area you can work on — such as walking 30 minutes a day, five days a week, or eating one or two more servings of produce a day.
You too can look to a new future with these beneficial habits. Knowing your numbers, such as cholesterol, blood pressure, and BMI, is also a key to good health. If you’re a KP member, you can view most lab results via My Health Manager on kp.org. You can then use your numbers when you take the Total Health Assessment online questionnaire to find out what you’re already doing well and areas where you’re poised to make a change. It takes just 20 to 30 minutes, and you’ll receive a customized plan with tips and tools to help you lead a healthier, happier life — at your own pace.
