Take a walk in nature - Wednesday, April 09
Studies show that physical activity in natural environments increases mental health more than exercising inside. Enjoy being active in nature with these ideas.
Explore your worksite. Find appealing places to walk during breaks. Schedule walking meetings outdoors. Or gather your colleagues for a few yoga stretches outside.
Check out your local recreation area. Look for safe, marked walking routes and heated outdoor pools.
Take a hike. Investigate a new trail — and enjoy varying your routine. Be mindful of your surroundings and, for added safety, walk in a group.
Locate a walking tour. Exercise, socialize, and learn something.
Join a sports team. You’ll be active outside while feeling encouraged by social support.
Get your loved ones involved. Designate a regular time when everyone can be active together. In addition to walking after dinner, plan a ski trip or camping excursion.
Strive for 30 minutes of walking, five days a week plus other activities — with plenty of fresh air.
